My name is Merja Heilman (n. Pajumäki) and my family includes husband Juhani and three adult children;
Anne, Toni and Pamela. I established my kennel while my children were small, so the whole family has been more or less involved with this hobby.
Normally I take care of the dogs and the breeding. Most of you know my daughter Anne propably better than me, because she has handled our
tibbies in shows since she was a little girl, she also helps me to keep in touch with breeders from abroad, because I do not speak English. Juhani
has often been in the side of the show rings too. Toni and Pamela are not that active with Kennel's activies at the present.Toni has his own family with Susanna,
which also includes "tibbie-granny's" favorite boy Saku. Pamela lives and studies in Varkaus to become a hair stylist.
At the moment the breeding is a hobby and a job for me, thus the kennel is part of our company. Before this I had many occupations, for instance I have been
seamstress, waitress, sales assistant and for several years I have been "a substitute mother". My hobbies are dogs (of course...), gardening and
when I was younger, I took Karate lessons for several years.
I've had dogs since I was a child, my first own dog was Jamthund Timi. Anne's first own dog was Tibetan Spaniel Katimon Cerina and
after that we were completely charmed by this Tibetan breed. "Pipsa" became the foundation bitch, due to her lovely Tibetan character and typical
looks. Pipsa's inheritance is strongly treasured in our blood lines. The most memorable Pipsa's fiance was Sweetie-Pie Ritzy Robert.
Although Roope was not our dog, we think that he is the other foundation dog of Down-Goblin tibbies and can be found behind many of our tibbies.
Even at the present, Roope is the ideal male and to whom we compare other males while trying to find new "spouses" for our bitches. EuvW-06 Down-Goblin
Miss Fashion is after these two foundation tibbies.
The goal of my breeding is a tibbie of good healt, lovely temperament and fits into the breed standard. In my opinion this can be achieved by
knowing your own dogs' strenghts and weaknesses, which I keep in mind while planning litters. I hope Down-Goblin Tibbie to have a proud and aristocratic
expression and good body which is covered with beautiful coat (in all rich colors) and feathering. To achieve the goal is to "move slowly", thus the breeding can take
years of work and offsprings.
